Project Description

MovideaA Software package for automatic video analysis of movements in infants at risk of neurodevelopmental disorders

Movidea is a tool developed in collaboration with the Italian Institute of Health (Istituto Superiore di Sanità – ISS), for the early detection of neurodevelopmental disorders in infants. Movidea implements a semi-automatic video-based motion analysis for the description of free movements in new-borns.  A set of scientifically proven features are computed to fully describe the motion of the four limbs for example in terms of velocities, trajectories, symmetry assessment.

Through the ability to work on any video acquired by means of any 2D professional or leisure camera or webcam as well as of 3D cameras, Movidea aims at wide-spreading the possibility to screen children for the presence of neurodevelopmental disorder, at a low cost and with no need of complex setups.
