DDRehab bridges the rehabilitation clinic and the patient’s home; on the clinical side it connects with the clinic’s Electronic Health Records collecting results of clinical tests and allowing remote digital therapy monitoring, whereas, on the patient’s side, it delivers cognitive and physical exercises following a tailored rehabilitation plan via DDRehab mobile application.
The concept behind DDRehab introduces two key innovations on the current telerehabilitation paradigm based on simple teleconsulting: 1.The availability of a fully personalized remote rehabilitation program designed by the therapist and run autonomously by the patient by means of a devoted mobile interface; 2. The full integration with the existing EHRs making both clinical assessments and rehabilitation performance data always available to the clinical operator.
DDRehab mobile application drives the patient through a physical and cognitive rehabilitation path defined by the doctors and therapists. The patient can see the calendar of the rehabilitation plan along with the scheduled exercises. Exercises delivered are designed to be executed at home and all of them have been implemented with the support of therapists and neuropsychologists. The performance of the exercises is recorded by the embedded sensors of the smartphone to extract features on the execution. Results are made available for clinicians.
