FITRehabFITness and physical REHABilitation at home under expert planning, prescription and control with assessment to overcome barriers in the deployment of telemedicine solutions

FITRehab is a project funding from the European Union under the Interreg IVC – Innovation4Welfare.

The FITREHAB project has integrated and field tested a new and innovative virtual reality based rehabilitation and training platform, which allow patients and medical discharged people to perform physical exercise at home under remote expert planning and monitoring. The main objective is to perform a field test of such platform to assess its clinical efficacy, deployment procedure within the existing infrastructure of hospitals, and benefits for the national health systems in term of costs and performance. The project aimed at the identification of criticalities in the platform and in the methodology and the definition of policy recommendation guidelines to the member regions of the project.

The project was running from 05-2010 to 10-2011.
